Our Mission Trip Support Services & Costs

As background, our primary purpose here at Mission NYC is to build customized mission trips for groups.  Our calling is to meet the specific goals and expectations of each team that comes to minister and serve the Lord here in NYC.  A mission trip can last a day, a week or just a weekend; you have full control of the length. 

To the left is a link to our extensive ministry opportunities list that you can select from that Mission NYC will coordinate and schedule for you and your group, through our extensive network of over 100 ministries and service organizations, for your mission trip to NYC.

 

Mission New York City is a full service support ministry that can also arrange:

Mission Trip Cost per Person

 

    The cost of a NYC mission trip is very affordable, as you can see below. However, the cost per person will vary based on your choice of housing, sightseeing and other discretionary options. These include, city hosts, airport shuttles, extra sightseeing options and the type of housing that meets your unique needs.

 

    Regardless of your optional choices, all mission trips will have a robust & diverse ministry schedule that is confirmed in advance of your arrival. A single day can have as many as 5 different ministry locations & projects / day. Subway passes and meals are not included.

We Offer 4 Different Types of Housing Options

    To further assist you in your mission trip planning and budgeting, Mission NYC provides discounted housing, airport shuttles, point to point directions (dedicated city guides are also available), sightseeing packages and free tracts to help you contain costs while maximizing your mission trip experience.  

     With whatever housing location you select, you will receive our nationally recognized ministry planning and scheduling services, 24/7 emergency access to Mission NYC staff, free tracts to distribute in NYC, point to point walking & subway directions, a church referral list to send new believers for follow up, detailed maps and navigation tools and the option for a dedicated missionary city guide*.

2010 Housing Costs for NYC Mission Trips

(Maximum Group size 1,650, minimum group size is “10 people”)

$19/pp/day for church housing

Maximum Group size at a single church is 45

 

Church Floor (No AC's): Bring a sleeping bag or air mattress.  (The churches have kitchens to prep meals, meeting space for devotionals and group worship, and multiple his/hers showers for the group to use. Subway stations are located in front of the churches. 

 

 

$38/pp/day for Youth Hostels

Maximum Group size at a single Hostel is 160

 

Manhattan hostel style housing. We work with several NYC hostels that have agreed to dedicate the rooms exclusively to your group. They provide guest hallway bathrooms and showers.  They also Include: 24-hour building security, luggage storage, free meeting space for devotionals and group worship, WiFi, a small kitchen for the group to use to prep breakfast & bag lunches. Air Conditioners are installed in all the rooms.  They are all located near subway stations. (You’ll need to bring your own bath towels.)

·          We do work with one hostel in Manhattan that in addition to the above also can provide a full kitchen and private back yard BBQ area.

·          Some of the hostels can also provide private studio rooms (For Pastors, leaders or couples) with mini refrigerators for an additional fee.

 

$46/pp/day for College Dormitory

Maximum Group size is 65

New Jersey & Brooklyn College Campuses housing. We work with several Colleges that have dorms rooms available on a first come first booking basis.  They Include: 24-hour building security, luggage storage, free meeting space for devotionals and group worship. Air Conditioners are installed in all the rooms.  They are all located near subway stations.

 

Rates vary depending on the time of year & availability.

HOTELS in Manhattan, Queens & Brooklyn. Excellent locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, which includes a free breakfast and Queens (offers Free bus & van parking). All are located near subway stations *

* If our 3 hotel options do not meet your specific housing requirements Mission NYC will need to request and invoice your group a flat $100 Hotel research fee for locating a hotel that meets both your specific budgetary & location needs.

Additional Mission Trip Services

AIRPORT SHUTTLES

 

Roundtrip door to door transfers from the airport or Amtrak.

$39 per person

 

 

In addition, to help make your mission trip planning easier, Mission NYC can also arrange roundtrip transfers from the airport to and from your housing for only $39/person (minimum group size for this price is 10 people)

 

Point to Point Travel Directions

$50 for each additional set of Point to Point Directions

 

 

An exclusive support service, Mission NYC creates and gives you detailed Point-to-Point directions for your entire custom-built mission trip. (This includes both subway and walking directions, maps and approximate travel time between ministry points)

Local Subway/Bus Passes

Local Subway Passes $29 (Mission NYC is authorized by the NYC MTA to purchase MetroCards in advance.)  * Includes a $2 handling Fee

 

Unlimited dual use subway and bus passes are only $29/week (7 days). 

If you decide to purchase these on your own once you get to NYC, every subway station sells them. However all transactions are “CASH ONLY” no credit cards are accepted for more than 2 passes.

 

Concert NYC Parks & NYPD Sound Permits

New York City Park & NYPD Sound Permits

 

$150 / permit

 

 

To perform a concert, puppet show or drama that uses any type of amplified sound in any NYC park, a park and sound permit are required by the City of New York.

 

Mission NYC handles the entire process of securing and collecting the 2 permits for your ministry activity.

·     Custom Sightseeing packages can also be created for your trip

 

For teams on their off day (minimum group size for this price is 10 people) that are looking to fully enjoy the unique sights that make up NYC, we also offer an optional sightseeing package that includes:

·         A Broadway Show (shows you can pick from include: Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins and more) < Lion King & Wicked are available but for an added fee of $10 pp>

·         American Museum of Natural History

·         Statue of Liberty / Ellis Island visit

·         Times Square walking tour

·         China Town walking tour

·         Ground Zero / Wall Street walking tour

·         Other options to add to your trip are available upon request:

o        USS Intrepid Air & Space Museum

o        A 90 minute Harbor Cruise

o        Empire State Building visit

o        NY Mets games

o        Metropolitan Museum of Art

o        Museum of Broadcasting

o        Bronx Zoo

o        NYC Aquarium

Mission group leaders can request a dedicated city host to help lead their team from one ministry location to the next. Your city host would be paid directly by you via a church check upon arrival in NYC.

 

Meals

 

Meals - $26/day

Breakfast - $5

Lunch  - $6

Dinner - $15

 

 

If you purchase your meals throughout your travels in NYC these are the amounts you should budget for in your planning.
